Many friends enjoy playing with drones, either for flying to show off or taking photos and videos, etc. Some friends are also quite interested in the internal structure of drones, such as the power structure brushless motor, including its working principle and the meaning of the KV value. So, what is the KV value of the brushless motor of a drone? How does it work? Let NOYU give everyone a brief science popularization! I hope it can be helpful to everyone!

The KV value of the brushless motor of the unmanned aerial vehicle
Whether the performance of a drone is good or not is mainly determined by the KV value and voltage value of the brushless motor. Generally, the KV values of the brushless motors used in model aircraft vary, ranging from several hundred to around three thousand, and can reach five or six thousand.
The KV value indicates that when the motor is under no-load conditions, for every 1 volt increase in voltage, the rotational speed increases. For brushless motors, this value is a constant. The rotational speed of a motor =KV value X voltage. For instance, a motor with a KV value of 1000, if it operates at a voltage of 10V, its rotational speed (no-load) would be 10,000 revolutions per minute.
For brushless motors of the same size and specification, brushless motors with more stator turns have a lower KV value, a relatively smaller output current, but a larger torque. Brushless motors with fewer stator turns have a high KV value, large output current, but relatively small torque.
The smaller the KV value of the motor is, the greater the power of the motor is, but the lower the speed is. The larger the KV value, the smaller the power of the motor, but the faster the speed.

All drones are equipped with brushless motors. Without brushless motors, drones cannot fly. They are one of the core components. Of course, brushless motors are closely related to propellers, batteries, and electronic speed regulators. I hope these little tips can be helpful to everyone!
